Drugs found in Brittany Murphy’s bedroom

As many as ten prescription drugs were found in late actress Brittany Murphy’s bedroom.Thesun.co.uk reported that unfilled bottles of pills to treat depression and anxiety were found on her bedside table.

Brittany Murphy died Sunday of a heart attack in her Los Angeles. She was reportedly taking prescription drugs for “flu-like” symptoms.

A coroner’s office official revealed that medicines in the stash were for pain relief, diabetes, anti-seizure, preventing heart attacks, and to treat bi-polar disorder.

Simon Monjack, who get married Brittany in 2007, said the star suffered from mitral valve prolapse, a heart murmur that may cause tiredness, dizziness and irregular heartbeats. But he said that it was not life-threatening and did not need medication.

A post mortem was done by the LA County Coroner Monday, but toxicology reports will be revealed after 6 weeks.

Arnold Stang, actor known for nerdy roles, dies

Arnold Stang, a radio, theater, film and television actor well-known for his nerdy looks and demeanor, has died.

David, son of Arnold Stang says he died of pneumonia Sunday at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Massachusetts. He was 91.

The New York City native started his career on the radio as a youngster. He played alongside Milton Berle in the 1950s, starred as Frank Sinatra's sidekick in the 1955 movie "The Man with the Golden Arm," and was an associate of the ensemble comedic cast of "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" in the year 1963.

Arnold Stang voiced the lead character in the 1960s cartoon "Top Cat," and continued comedy and drama roles into his 80s.

Arnold Stang, who had lived in the Boston suburb of Needham for the past decade, is survived by his wife of 60 years, JoAnne; son, David; and daughter, Deborah.

Jackson's 'Captain EO' to return to Disneyland

LOS ANGELES – "Captain EO" is moonwalking back to Disneyland.

The theme park announced plans Friday to get back the 3-D sci-fi film starring Michael Jackson next February, above 23 years after the attraction debuted in Anaheim, Calif. The 17-minute film starred the late King of Pop as a singing-and-dancing intergalactic commander. This 17-minute film wad directed by Francis Ford Coppola and executive produced by George Lucas.

In the film, Michael Jackson leads a goofy alien and robot crew as they battle a wicked queen played by Anjelica Huston. "Captain EO" originally opened in Disneyland's Tommorrowland in the year 1986 and ran for more than a decade. Identical versions later opened at other Disney theme parks. They were all closed by 1998.

Michael Jackson died June 25 at age 50.

ABC cancels another Adam Lambert performance

adam-lambertAs far as ABC is concerned, the controversy surrounding Adam Lambert still hasn't cooled down enough for him to be handled. For the second time, the network has cancelled an appearance by the onetime American Idol favorite.

"Yes, sadly friends, ABC has canceled my appearances on Kimmel and NYE," Lambert, 27, wrote on his Twitter account. ":( don't blame them. It's the FCC heat."

The singer's racy American Music Awards performance earned the FCC and the network thousands of complaints from viewers who thought his homoerotic gyrations inappropriate for TV.

ABC quickly nixed an appearance on "Good Morning America," saying his stage style was not suited for a morning show - a move Lambert took in good humor.

Meredith Baxter: Yes, I'm gay

"It was a later in life recognition," the actress explained to Matt Lauer on the "Today" show Wednesday.

The National Enquirer recently ran a story about Baxter being spotted on a lesbian cruise through the Caribbean with a "female friend," which was then picked up by celebrity blogs. As a result, the 62-year-old decided to tell her fans herself.

First Asian model on Victoria's Secret runway

VictoriaFour years ago Liu Wen entered a modeling contest in China to win a computer to use for school. Little did she know it would lead her to the Victoria's Secret runway in New York.

Wen, who will appear in the Victoria's Secret fashion show airing Tuesday on CBS, will be the first Victoria's Secret model of Asian descent to walk the catwalk, the company said.

"I was surprised when my agent told me," Wen said hours before she was set to walk the runway. She seemed only slightly overwhelmed: clad in a pink robe, one technician assigned to her fingernails, another to her toenails and another adding extensions to her already long black hair. "I asked my agent if she was joking. I didn't think an Asian girl would get this job."


David Hasselhoff hospitalized

David-hasselhoffDavid Hasselhoff and his ex-wife Pamela Bach are having a troubled start to the holiday season - one landing in the hospital, the other in jail over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Hasselhoff was hospitalized for two days, People has confirmed, though his attorney Mel Goldsman would not disclose the nature of his illness.

"David is home now and he's fine," said Goldsman.

Hasselhoff's troubles began at home on Friday. Though authorities did not identify the name of the patient or the owner of the home, a fire department spokesman did confirm that paramedics responded to a call for medical aid at 11:51 a.m. at a home in Encino, and the patient was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. People learned that the address of the home matches the one owned by Hasselhoff.

Donny Osmond's turkey with a side of win

Though it had been a busy few days for the oldest contestant to win the mirrored trophy, it was business as usual Wednesday in Las Vegas at his show, "Donny and Marie."

The eagerly awaited Twilight sequel took top box office honors last weekend, pulling in a whopping $140 million - which could make it the top-grossing film of 2009.

Pattinson, 23, who plays sexy vampire Edward Cullen, gave a shout out to fans on Twilight's Twitter page, writing, "Thank you for making NEW MOON #1," It's very exciting to be a part of something embraced by so many people."

Donny Osmond is new 'Dancing' champ

Osmond was named champion of this season's edition of "Dancing With the Stars" on Tuesday night, beating out singer Mya, who took second place, and Kelly Osbourne, who finished third.

"You are born to perform," the judges told Osmond earlier during the two-hour season finale of the hit series.

The entertainer beamed as he held up the trophy with his professional dancing partner Kym Johnson, then ran into the spectators and brought his sister Marie onto the dance floor to celebrate.

Lambert says man-on-man kiss at AMA happened 'in the moment'

James Van Der Beek files for divorce

The couple had no children together.

The pair separated earlier this year.

Van Der Beek, 32, and McComb got engaged in early 2003 and were married over the Fourth of July weekend that year in Malibu.

The two had exchanged vows in an outdoor ceremony in front of a group of guests that included Van Der Beek's "Dawson's Creek" costars Michelle Williams, Busy Phillips and pal Soleil Moon Frye.

James Franco brings movie star magic to 'General Hospital'

Beginning Friday, James Franco will be appearing on "General Hospital," the long-running ABC soap opera.

Producers are trying to keep his story line under wraps, but here's what is known: The actor, best recognized for roles in "Pineapple Express" and "Spider-Man 3," will play a character known as Franco who has a connection to the art world and is pivotal to a story line involving "GH's" lead character, Jason Morgan.

Fate of DJ AM show unclear as assumption over death grows

The future of a realism show that Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein was working on for MTV remains unsure after his death Friday night, his publicist said Monday.

"It is too soon to have made any decisions at this time concerning the status of the show," Jenni Weinman said in an e-mail regarding "Gone Too Far," a show about drug habit that was set to debut in October.

It was a topic close to his heart. The successful deejay and entrepreneur was a self-described crack cocaine addict who had 11 years of sobriety and required the show to help others.

'Runway' and Klum stay in style

The design competition returns for a sixth season on a new system , in a new city (Los Angeles), with 16 new contestant, all looking to daze their way to fashion greatness.

"Project Runway" premieres Thursday, about eight months later than its original date. The stoppage was because of a legal battle between Lifetime and the Weinstein Co. (which owns the show), and NBC Universal, parent company to Bravo (which aired "Project Runway" for five seasons).

Despite the new home, the show's core, supermodel host Heidi Klum, silver-fox mentor Tim Gunn and snarky judge duo Nina Garcia and Michael Kors remains integral.
