Taylor Swift: Why music should be thanking her

(CNN)Remember when Taylor Swift and Apple Music were foes?
Well, those days are long gone now as Swift is one of their highest-profile pitch persons and doing a damn fine job of it. After withholding her "1989" album from Apple Music in 2015, they made up after Apple agreed to pay artists for music streamed during the free customer trial.
Now her ads for Apple Music are buzzing and that's just one of the reasons the music industry should thank Taylor Swift. Here are a few more:

She's making us all feel like we could be music stars

On Monday, a new Apple Music commercial titled "Mirror" was released in which Swift lip syncs Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle."
"Oh my god, I love this song," Swift says in the commercial. "I used to listen to this in middle school."
She then proceeds to dance in the mirror. Between this commercial and an earlier one where she lip syncs Future and Drake's song "Jumpman" (before falling on her face) she reminds the world that you don't actually have to be able to sing to put on a great performance.
Not that we didn't know that before, but Tay takes it to another level.

Swift brings in money - even for others

According to Adweek, rapper Drake's iTunes sales shot up 431% following the aforementioned commercial featuring Swift doing "Jumpman."
That's partially due to Swift's wide social reach with her fans.
"With an artist that's got 73 million followers on Instagram, that's bigger than NBC, CBS and Fox and the viewership of prime time combined," Apple Music's head of content Larry Jackson told Adweek.

She is a total fan girl

In addition to her crew of famous friends including Lorde and Selena Gomez, Swift has lots of love for fellow celebs.
That was obvious when she freaked out over Rihanna, who joined Swift's boyfriend, uber producer Calvin Harris, on stage this weekend at Coachella for a performance of their hit "We Found Love."
Swift posted a video clip of the performance -- and her joy about it -- on Instagram with the caption "I'll NEVER forget this moment".
Gotta love a star who doesn't mind sharing her shine.

Has she finally found true love?

Nothing thrills fans more than a super couple and Swift is that with Harris, whose real name is Adam Wiles.
The pair thrilled fans in March when they shared photos of their tropical vacation.
In April she thanked him during her iHeartRadio Music Awards acceptance speech.
"For the first time, I had the most amazing person to come home to when the spotlight went out and when the crowds were all gone," she said. "So I want to thank my boyfriend Adam for that and I love you guys so much."
So either there will be more good music because she is happy, or there'll be a killer break up album. Either way, fans and the music industry win.
