A man rammed his car into a restaurant in
Los Angeles after apparently becoming frustrated that the toilets at the
fast food outlet were locked.
A customer who was using the facilities at the time, William Correa, said: "He was banging on the door and I didn’t come out."He banged it twice, about three times."
CBS reporter Cristy Fajardo said the man had also been calling a woman’s name repeatedly.
After waiting for traffic to clear, he drove across five lanes and rammed his vehicle into the building’s front door.
He then repeated his actions, going back into the restaurant and again banging on the toilet door while calling a woman’s name.
Returning to his car for a second time, he drove around the corner of the restaurant before again ramming the building.
Police believe it might have been a potential case of domestic violence.
Officers told Fajardo the 42-year-old suspect may have been under the influence of drugs.
"He could’ve killed the people, you know."
The outlet’s manager said it was remarkable that no one was injured.
The seating area had to be closed while repairs were carried out, but the drive-thru remained open.
Mr Correa said: "I’ve lived in Los Angeles 12 years and I’ve never experienced anything like this.
"I hope I never experience this anymore."
The suspect, who has not been named, was later arrested.
