Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Wore Twinning Tech Toys on the Red Carpet

The couple brought back a ‘90s essential for the 2016 Met Gala.

There was no shortage of cute couples at the 2016 Met Gala — Bella Hadid and The Weeknd wore head-to-toe-black, Zigi got into metallics, and Kim and Kanye were, well, Kim and Kanye. But no celeb twosome had a cuter take on the evening’s “tech white tie” dress code than Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry.
Though their ensembles couldn’t have been more different — Orlando wore a burgundy jacket and black pants (swoon!) by Prada, while Katy wore a gilded velvet Prada dress and black lipstick — they were united by matching white Tamagotchis. Most of the crowd at the tech-themed bash were well-equipped with a smartphone or two, but Katy and Orlando’s tech toys remind us of a simpler time.

If you think this means the not-so-cuddly digital pets are making their way back into stores, think again. “I’ve been keeping these btches alive since ’96,” Katy [joked to People* mag about the vintage toys](http://stylenews.peoplestylewatch.com/2016/05/02/katy-perrys-met-gala-look-featured-tamagotchis-ive-been-keeping-these-bitches-alive-since-96/?utmsource=feedburner&utmmedium=feed&utmcampaign=Feed%3A+people%2Fstylewatch%2Fofftherack+%28PEOPLE.com%3A+Style+Watch+-+Off+The+Rack%29&xid=socialflowtwitter_peoplestyle), destroying our dream of retrieving one of our very own. Katy, if you ever decide to give yours away, you know where to find us!
